Roll for the Galaxy - Phase Selection Frame
Please support CloseToSkill by Liking/Boosting their Print on MakerWorld.
This Guess Who style Frame was created for the board game Roll for the Galaxy .
It is based on a design from asafpm:
https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:5385222
Warning:
Be careful when putting the card holder into the frame at the places where the indentation for the connection clips for the different pieces is.
Since the wall at that place is relatively small, it can break when forcing the cylinder in.
I made various improvements to the design to make it more functional:
• I split the 3 piece into a 2 and a 1 piece, so it can also be printed on an A1 mini.
(now also with a print profile that comes in one piece, for those of you out there with truly huge printers.)
• The top part of the holding mechanism was slanted, so it can print without supports.
• The size of the card holder groove was increased so the card doesn't need to be forced in.
• The length of the card holder was reduced slightly so it can be closed without rubbing on the frame at the front.
• The width of the cylinder for the rotation was reduced slightly, to make the rotation smoother.
• The clips that hod the pieces together were increased in width so they don't break as easily, and the holes were made slightly bigger, to account for imprecision and to put less stress on the clips.
