Here I Stand Wars of the Reformation Board Game Inserts

Inserts for the board game "Here I Stand - Wars of the Reformation". Designed for the 500th edition. These were all designed from scratch and were printed using an extrusion FDM printer; see notes below for details.

The set is designed so that each faction box can be converted into a stand to hold action cards during play, and they have a removable tray that can be used to sort components in-game.

After printing, it was found that there was not enough room for all of the extra components to be stored inside the "extras box", so some of them needed to be stored inside faction boxes.

Player boxes contain fun quotes thought to be attributed to the primary leader of each faction/nation (except for England - one of his quotes is Shakespeare). The quote on the inside of the lid is meant to be more serious, while the one in the base is more fun. Please note - some of these quotes are a bit sexist, but I am not! In a game that seeks to stay true to the atmosphere of the age, I thought it appropriate to include quotes that humorously illustrated the views of those leaders. Feel free to fact check me!

Also - I tried to stay true to history wherever possible. The sigil for the Ottomans was what my research found to be the most likely battle banner for the era, not whatever was printed on the game pieces themselves. Also, I designed the Habsburg pieces to reflect the European (not Americanized) spellings.

Notes:

All boxes and lids were printed using a 0.4mm nozzle and 0.2mm layer height. The sigils were printed using a 0.25mm nozzle with 0.1mm layer height. Support material was used under overhangs, but not underneath debossed letters - use to your own discretion.

The sigils have been designed to be printed with alternating colors stacked layer-by-layer so that no color changes are required within a single layer. This allows the prints to be completed using a normal, non-multi-material printer, although color fastness will be dependent on proper color purging between layers.
