Model Description
The Icue is a bronze sculpture by Manuel Ardil Pagán , displayed at Puerta de Murcia in the Spanish city of Cartagena (Region of Murcia), at the junction with Sagasta, Carmen, and Santa Florentina streets , opposite the Palacio Pedreño .
The work depicts an icue , the popular name given to the children who used to wander around the port, holding a boquerón ( aladroque in local slang) from which a jet of water flows. The sculpture was inaugurated on May 22, 1969 , during the mayoralty of Ginés Huertas Celdrán .
