Backgammon x JJK

Model Description

#BOARDXCULTS

WHAT IS BACKGAMMON?
It is a racing game whose immediate objective is to remove all the checkers from the board before the opponent. To do this their checkers must make a path over the squares of the board, those of one in a clockwise direction and those of the other in a counterclockwise direction, so that the paths of one and the other cross.

The player who wins the game scores one or more points, as explained below. The game continues until one of the players reaches or exceeds the number of points previously agreed.

PARTS OF THE MODEL:

I recommend using magnets to close the board

GAME RULES:
Beginning of the game

The players face each other with the board between them so that the bar divides the board into two halves, left and right for each player respectively.

Each player has two dice but, exceptionally in the first throw, each player only throws one of them. The player who gets the highest value is the one who starts to play, moving his pieces with the value of the two dice rolled (one from each player).

From then on they alternate turns for the successive moves.

Moves

Except in that first roll, in his turn, each player must roll his two dice and move his pieces as many squares as indicated by the dice. He can move two pieces (one piece for what each die indicates) or he can move a single piece in two consecutive moves. A move is valid as long as it ends in an empty square, in a square with other own pieces or in a square with only one opponent's piece. In the latter case, the opponent's piece is captured and placed on the bar.

A piece can never be moved to a square occupied by two or more opponent's pieces.

Doubles

When a player gets a double (both dice with the same value), he must double the move, that is, he must make four moves for the value that would have been rolled on the dice.

Captured pieces

If a player has a captured piece (on the bar) he can only make the corresponding move(s) in his turn by putting these captured pieces on the board, and he cannot make a move with other pieces until he has all the pieces in play.

A captured piece enters the game counting its first move from the first square of the 24 of its total distance.

Pass

In each turn it is compulsory to make the maximum number of moves possible according to the values of the dice.

In particular, in case of having only one piece that can move by the value of both dice, but not the sum of both, the higher of the two values must be chosen.

It can also happen that the player loses the turn because he cannot make any move. This situation often occurs when the player has a captured piece.

End of the game

The game ends when one of the players manages to remove all his pieces from the board.

In order to start making moves to remove pieces, a player must have previously placed all of them in the squares of the last quadrant of his path.

The pieces must leave the board using the exact number needed to do so. A higher number than the one needed to remove a piece can only be used when there are no other pieces left in any of the previous squares.
