Miyabi Board Game Insert Organizer

Model Description

I enjoy playing board games, and Miyabi is one of my latest favorites. I love keeping everything neat and tidy, and setup is a breeze with this organizer. I was inspired by AndrewBougie’s design, as this storage solution is great for all the player pieces!

I resigned the box to have 4x1 small openings so it would fit the board game box. I printed each drawer with the corresponding player color for easy identification. I added a recess in the back of each drawer for a round 3mm diameter and 3mm deep magnet. These are readily available on Amazon or eBay for under $10 for a 100 or more. (They have multiple uses and are great for other 3d printing projects) https://www.amazon.com/Magnets-Refrigertor-Whiteboard-Durable-Multi-Use/dp/B07BNTF6NL

I then super glued a small 5mm thin washer to the inside of each drawer compartment inside the box so the magnet would have something to stick to. This keeps the drawers from accidentally sliding out when the box is tipped on its side.

I designed a Miyabi name plate to super glue to the top of the box, to easily identify which side is face up. I printed this with two contrasting filaments. I thought this would be a better option to separate the print files rather than trying to integrate the name on the box side into one print file. Without the name plate, I found myself opening the drawer with the box upside down, which creates a mess with all the pieces falling all over the place.
