FFG Cosmic Encounter Insert (all expansions up to Odyssey, cards and powers sleeved)
Please support galfridus by Liking/Boosting their Print on Printables.
(Every file is x1, print once - for each file name - unless otherwise marked. (The .3mf and .stls are the same thing for each file name, with or without lettering objects for multi-color; you don't need to print both! Instruction PDFs included.)
Files that are printed multiple times:
Planet Disc Tray - Short (x2)
Ship Tray - Short (x8)
EDIT 8/24/2024: I have edited some file names to make printing quantities more clear. There were no design changes.
Some WARNINGS, read below.
This stores all the Cosmic Encounter expansions in the main box plus the Odyssey box, with cards and powers sleeved. (I also have some spiffy Lux jewels, there's space for those as well, they are not included!)
This is a pretty tight fit.
WARNING #1: This game has been out for a long time and could well have printing variations. I tended to buy stuff when it came out. I bought the old Singapore power sleeves, then the newer ones when the others went out of print. I used FFG sleeves, then Gamegenic when FFG went out of print. Your box, tokens, sleeves, etc. may be different enough to cause issues.
If you have a multi-material printer, the 3MF files are set up to print all the labels as a different color flush (not embossed, embossed takes up space!). The STL files have the label shapes removed so the lettering is empty space.
Note that most of the standard-size card trays require supports for a lip at the bottom which helps them stack and stay together in the box.
WARNING #2: The trays will print without supports but on my printer they were off enough that they didn't stack well, not recommended.
The awesome large counter tray was too big for my print bed; there's a split version which worked fine (has some sawtooths to help combine the pieces). It totally needs supports to print.
Printed on a Bambu X1C, .4mm nozzle, .2 layer height, mostly with Bambu filament (bit of other stuff used when I ran out).
Counter tray tweaked from an amazing design by BGG user Shayneharris.
Card trays modded from Parametric card tray for board games by Magnus Kvevlander.
Insert that holds all expansions up to and including Odyssey in the main box plus Odyssey box.
