This game comes with a simple insert, but we decided it would be better to have trays for each player, and some shared trays for track tiles. (With shared resource trays, everyone would be simultaneously reaching in to get five wood cubes, for example.) These trays fit in the same space that would be used for the insert that comes with the game.
These aren't necessarily designed for sideways game storage.
Packing the box: We put the instructions on the bottom. On top of that, we put the board on one side of the box. On the other side of the box, we put the track tile trays in the corners and stack the four player trays in the middle. The bags go on top of the board.
The round marker and first player marker can go in one of the track tile trays.

Replacement insert for Minecart Town: Includes a tray for each player (since there are enough goods cubes that you usually won't need to share) and two trays for track tiles.
