Upgrades for Last Light boardgame
This repository entails some improvement and some additions for Last Light
### Planetring
* the actual game has "not very" readable half circle exploration token. Moreover the extension exploration tokens are bigger than the normal ones. Therefore I created those planet rings. The idea is that planets are without any exploration tokens at the beginning. Once a player explores a planet the token is selected via drawing of a bag (we arrange the tokens in order and use a D20 dice to select a token). Then the player gets the immediate reward, adds the kind of resource (light, resource (x2) or resource dice (you need to print that) to the ring. This has the benefit that it is easier to see what kind of resource the planet has. The ring has also a slot for the extractor, which makes that more visible and it cannot be moved that easily as it stays with the planet.
### Resources [Resource capsule (x2), resource tube]
* the resources in the game have hard to distinguish colors. Hence some paint them. Now you can print your own resources. As I do not have a color 3d printer, I had to invent a clicking system. to create a single resource you have to print the capule twice and a colored resource tube. They click nicely together (you might need to tweak the scaling depending on your printer to get nicely fitting parts. The good news is that resources only need <10 minutes to print.
### Space stations
* the space stations replace the round card board player tokens. They have slots for three extractors and resources. And again the idea is to attach an attractor (one at the beginning) and when build and to make it visible also the type of resource (common or uncommon [you might want to print some extra resources also for this as otherwise you might run out of resources during the game). I printed the stations with two different colors and there are three versions, which are different how the attractors are attached (outside or top).
### resource dice
* this is a token for the expansion ring to identify planets that have a dice rolling exploration token. Initially I had two different version (on with a resource sign and one with a disc on the dice), but this was hard to print and it is not necessary. Inner planets have the white expansion token type and outer planets the grey expansion type. hence you know which dice to role.
### light tokens
* some extra light tokens you might need. I for example have ordered the retail version and in there the light tokens do not fit. Hence I need some extra for higher player counts. To make them easier to differentiate I put a whole into the smaller 1 unit ones.
### How to print
All pieces (except space staions) are fast and easy to print. Initially I used a smaller nozzle but the standard 0.4 nozzle is fine. No support is needed except for the space stations. I used color swap for some of the stations as it helps to see the extractors. For the light tokens I suggest transparent PLA, but I do not have one lying around.
As I do want to print some ships when my retail expansion (infinity arrives) I suggest to look around at thingiverse to find some space ships. There are many cool models to choose from.
Have fun playing last light (which is an excellent game) and even better with some of the prints here (I especially recommend the planet rings as they make the whole planet/extractor/resource bits much less fiddly.
Some neat component upgrades for the game. Planet rings, resource capsules, space stations, etc
