This is an insert / organizer for the wicked fishing board game “Deep Regrets" (2025) and the expansion "Even Deeper Regrets" (2026) . It will also hold Kickstarter promo cards and the “Lamentable Tentacles” (2025) mini-expansion .

• No lid lift

• No supports needed (one part has a smallish support prompted by Bambu Studio but it could be turned off safely)

• Highly decorative yet functional parts that double for storage and enhance gameplay at the same time (check photos!)

Some organizers out there put everything in the main box, but my design philosophy behind this model was to fit the game art and ideas. The inner boxes have beautiful art too, so I didn't want to neglect the expansion box either.

Having a little more box estate space, I decided to have my insert function as in-game accessories too. The trays for the port cards resemble fish crates; the dink card holders are little anchovy / sardine cans! The regrets card holder can be opened and assembled to function as both draw tray and discard pile holder. The shoal trays feature portholes when you reach the bottom of a shoal deck, and so on…

You will need to glue portholes to the shoal/river trays. This is easy.

I tried a multicolor approach on the same model but I noticed some quality issue since the bottom of the tray and the portholes are very thin. Printing the two pieces as separate models turned out much cleaner and better. I have used a brush-applied superglue to glue the pieces together and if done with just a little patience you won't be able to tell that the two were separate pieces.

I highly recommend to print the portholes and the dink trays in some metal-like filament.

I used Bambu Lab Basic PLA Brass for the portholes and Iridium Gold for the dink trays. For the latter you can probably use a silk filament with an aluminum finish as well. For these parts specifically I also recommend using ironing, but it's optional (I have set mine to 60mm/s and 30% for the metal PLA, but your settings may differ).

Optional rubber or felt feet can be applied at the bottom of the pieces that go on the game board.

At the bottom of the trays (river, shoal, loch) you'll notice some smallish hole/marks: I have put those as reference marks in case you decide to add rubber/foam feet to those models so they don't slide on the board. They're entirely optional.

In the photos I published in the gallery you may notice that I decided to weather some of the models: this is entirely optional, but the components of this insert really lend themselves to this kind of treatment. If you want to try the same route, you can use some washes and other grime/mold effects as you like.

The port crates feature some holes that can pass through a small rope (2-3mm thick: I have used 2.5) to create handles: these are non-functional and merely decorative but they're really a fun feature that's really easy to add. You will be able to store the trays normally even with these small appendages on.

Main box

• Place the 4 ship trays for the shoals and the river filled with cards as per game setup instructions (typically 13 per shoal slot and all, evenly distributed, for river slots): you'll shuffle these at every game together with the other cards that go in the other box but this separation is intended to optimize space. You'll notice that the river tray is taller than the sea shoal trays and that's intentional because there are a few more river cards.

• Place the player aid cards tray next to the ship trays and the loch tray on top of it, filled with the respective cards each.
• Next to the player aid + loch trays assembly you'll notice there's some space left: you should put the anchor and lifesaver tokens there.

• Place the regrets tray next: this pieces can be opened and then slid into each other half to create a draw/discard tray assembly when in play.

• Place the 5 player colored components trays and the 6th tray for the round marker and omen die next, in rows of 3 and 2 stacks.

• Place the 2 dink trays (the sardine cans) on top of each other in a corner, and the cloth bag that came with the game in the other.
• I tend to put the metal fish coin next to the bag as well.

• Finally, cover everything with the manuals, the ocean survey leaflets, and the three game boards (port, ocean and river/loch from the expansion).

Expansion box

• Place the large tray (the largest piece) at the bottom: this will hold all the extra cards you won't be normally playing in a game but only draw from to create the shoal decks. Put all the cards that didn't fit the individual trays here.

• On top, place the 3 port crates for supplies, rods, reels.

• On the side, place the cloth baggie that came with the expansion containing clout tokens.

• Place the player boards and other tall rectangular pieces on top ( except for the river/loch board).
