Slay the Spire Board game box insert

Fully made for Collector's Edition but should work for Retail Edition.

These Box inserts were made as a present for my brother.

So, when I bought my 3d printer half a year ago I was itching to print anything of use. And since neither me or my brother (who owns the game) liked the original way of storing, and the need to squeeze our fingers to get the cards in or out while fighting the dividers. We decided to find a game box insert to print. But when we were looking up other’s inserts, we didn’t find anything quite right for us. And since we wanted to be able to store a coin box that I made a couple of years ago inside the game box, I decided to make my own inserts.

So, using Betamax105 from Thingiverse organizers as a starting point, I made my own. Although I have some nitpicks, me and my brother are both very happy with the result.

The main goal was to easily be able to take out only the boxes that was needed, be able to use the Deck and Relic boxes as card holders during gameplay, be able to fit a coin box inside the game box, and be able to store all the original extra stuff inside the game box.

I found that these works great especially when multiple people are putting it all back. Everybody takes one box each, and work from there.

As I made these, my plan was always to paint them (as in pictures) but it isn’t necessary. Although having the top of the boxes painted helps a lot to distinguish which box is which from above. (but if you have/use different color filament the problem solves itself)

The placement of the Act’s cards goes as follows, from the front/Start:
Compartment 1 – 1st Encounter (Act 1)
Compartment 2 – Encounters
Compartment 3 – Gremlin’s (Act 1)
Compartment 4 – Minions
Compartment 5 – Elite
Compartment 6 – Unknown.

Some extra points of note,

• Under the boss cards in the Boss box, there are space for the Lock/Stop cards.

• With the exception of the Deck boxes, every other card slot is elevated a little to ease grabbing.

• I use the Keys box to store the game’s pause bags when not in use, in addition to the keys.

• The Gremlin’s compartment is marked on the sides of the Act 1 box with a G.

• The Dividers can sadly not be stored in their respective boxes and must be stored in the Divider box outside play.

• The two Pause boxes are for storing the decks and relics when an unfinish game needs to be put away.

This is my first project of this type since I bought my 3d printer half a year ago. So if you have any suggestions on what and how I could do stuff better, I would be very happy to hear it!
