About the Game

Cornered is an abstract strategy game played with 18 game pieces on a 6 x 6 grid. The board includes symbols for where all the pieces start. There are 8 squares and one circle piece of each of the two colors.

The circles only slide on the board--meaning they can move one space in any direction as long as it is open, and the circles cannot move into the perimeter (darker) spaces on the board. The squares can hop OR slide on the board into any open space, but they cannot hop and slide in the same turn. Squares must be able to land in an open space two positions away in a straight line in order to hop over another piece. Squares can hop over any other game piece on the board (your own and your opponent's included).

Players alternate turns moving one piece each turn. The objective is to hop your own squares over the opponent's circle. When a square is hopped over the opposing circle, it is removed from the board. The first player to clear all of their own squares wins the game.
