About the Game

Marine Invaders is a New Zealand based Educational Marine Card game. Encouraging players to learn to identify what is a New Zealand native species, and what is a pest invasive species, try to survive the longest when facing real world scenarios that effect your population and habitat. Players split the deck into "species" cards (blue) and "Interaction" cards (white), and shuffle both decks. Then, each player chooses a single species card. Players record the HPP and Habitat points from their species card. Each player will pick up from the "Interaction" deck, and read it aloud. Players use simple mathematics to keep score of HPP and Habitat points to stay alive the longest. If either set of HPP or Habitat points gets to zero, then their species card is out of the game.

Designed by marine scientists at The University of Waikato to be scientifically accurate and support reporting of invasive species in New Zealand.
