Mastermind – board game
This model brings the full Mastermind board game into a compact, fully 3D‑printable form.
The complete game measures **235 × 140 × 30 mm**.
### Construction
The game uses a sliding system — the pin storage box slides into the main board.
This keeps everything secure, portable, and neatly organized.
### Printing & Graphics
- The board is designed for bed‑printed graphics (ideally two‑color).
- For single‑color printing, an emboss version of the graphics is included.
- You can apply Fuzzy skin on the upper rim of the game pins for better grip.
- The lower part of each pin (the part inserted into the board) should remain smooth.
### Important – Box Locking Pins
The locking pins that keep the sliding box closed are 1.5 mm tall.
They are intentionally designed larger, so each user can adjust the opening force to their preference.
- At the original height, the box requires a lot of force to open.
- Recommended: lightly sand the pins — reduced to about 0.9 mm works well.
- Alternatively, you can trim them using a slicer modifier.
This adjustment significantly improves usability.
### Pin Counts
Game Pins (colors)
- 160 pieces total
- 20 pieces for each of 8 colors
Information Pins (black/white)
- 50 pieces total
- 25 pieces for each of 2 colors
### Mastermind Rules
Mastermind is a logic game for two players.
#### Number of Positions
This version includes 5 positions for the secret code, offering a more challenging game.
Players may start with easier variants:
- 4 positions – classic difficulty
- 3 positions – fast and simple
- You can also use fewer colors to simplify the game
#### Goal
Guess the secret color code created by the opponent.
#### Gameplay
1. One player creates a secret combination of colored pins.
2. The opponent places a guess in each row.
3. The guess is evaluated using information pins:
- Black pin = correct color in the correct position
- White pin = correct color in the wrong position
4. The guessing continues until the code is cracked or all rows are used.
#### Winning
The winner is the player who guesses the code in the fewest attempts.
