Quantum Cube Exposed Edition is a mesmerizing print-in-place kinetic fidget featuring a spinning offset-weight core enclosed inside an open-frame cube.

The exposed design provides a clear view of the rotating core, creating a unique visual effect as it spins and shifts inside the cube. Simply tilt the cube from side to side or spin the core with your fingers and watch the motion come to life.

This model was heavily optimized to minimize support marks and visible imperfections. A significant amount of time was spent refining the internal geometry and support contact areas to achieve the cleanest possible surface finish while maintaining reliable print-in-place functionality.

The cube also features a built-in attachment hole, allowing it to be clipped to a backpack.

The exposed spinning core creates a unique eye-catching effect while hanging and moving, turning the cube into both a satisfying fidget and a unique everyday accessory.

Print-in-Place

This model is designed to print fully assembled.

Supports are required.

For best results, I strongly recommend using PETG as the Support/Raft Interface material while keeping the model and support base material in PLA.

Recommended support settings:

• Support Type: Normal

• Support/Raft Base: PLA

• Support/Raft Interface: PETG

Using PETG as the interface layer makes support removal significantly easier and results in a much cleaner surface finish.

I also highly recommend enabling a Prime Tower when using multiple materials.

Its open-frame design provides an even better view of the spinning core and enhances the overall visual effect.

Speed

Speed is very important for this model due to the large number of small and detailed features.

Recommended speeds:

• Outer Wall: 50 mm/s

• Inner Wall: 50 mm/s

• Sparse Infill: 50 mm/s

• Internal Solid Infill: 50 mm/s

• Top Surface: 50 mm/s

Keeping speeds under control helps maintain dimensional accuracy and improves the overall appearance of the finished print.

Enjoy watching the core come alive.
