I'm working to provide more customization options, like changing the position of the top claws, the radius of the fillets and the chance to have an hole in the bottom claw to free space for usb ports.

This stand is designed to hold handheld devices comfortably on your stomach or lap, reducing arm strain during long play sessions.

It offers three adjustable height positions.
If you plan to use the stand with a console without a case or cover, I recommend printing the optional TPU pads (included in the Steam Deck print profile) or covering the stand’s claws with soft rubber pads to protect your device.

Required Hardware

The stand requires two compression springs, each 30 mm in length with a maximum outer diameter of 6 mm . I personally used 0.5 × 6 × 30 mm compression springs , which are easy to find online or at most hardware stores (though not in the MakerWorld Supply Store). For convenience, I’ve linked the closest available option in the Kits and Parts section: 0.5 × 5 × 30 mm springs.

Steam Deck or other devices

A ready-to-print profile for the Steam Deck is included, as it’s the only device I own and have tested. However, you can use the MakerWorld Editor to customize the stand for other handhelds.

The editor provides four adjustable parameters:

• dvUpThickness – Thickness of the top part of your device (where the claws grip).

• dvBTThickness – Thickness of the bottom part of your device (where it rests).

• dwClawAngle – Angle of the bottom surface of the device. For example, the Steam Deck has a 13° angle; set this to 0 if your device is flat.

• dvHeight – Total device height (including any protective case or cover).

The editor generates an STL/3MF file containing only the claws of the stand. The remaining parts are available in the “ Custom Device ” print profile.

Since I can’t test other devices myself, any help is welcome.
If you create profiles for other handhelds (like the Nintendo Switch or ROG Ally ), feel free to upload them, but please include real photos of the stand in use.

I hope you like this stand. I’ve been using it for a few weeks now and I couldn’t do without it anymore.
I already see some potential upgrades:

• Option to attach a power bank;

• Option to adjust the height with a quicker pin/slot system instead of a bolt;

If there’s interest in the project, I’ll be happy to implement these and possibly other upgrades.
