Any spring around 20 mm long and 7–9 mm in diameter will work for this design. I personally prefer the 1.2 mm thread resistance on the lid—it provides a satisfying snap and ensures it stays securely closed. I’ve also tried 0.8 mm threads , which still hold the lid shut, but the closing doesn’t have the same tactile snap.
This system combines functionality, flexibility, and a touch of fun—perfect for anyone who works with small components and wants their workspace tidy, efficient, and customizable. Whether you’re a PCB tinkerer, electronics enthusiast, or just need a practical way to organize tiny parts, these boxes are built to make your life easier.
