Isle of Skye Game Box Insert

Isle of Skye is a great game, but the pieces organization is rubbish... it's nonexistent. There is a handful of tiny baggies to put pieces in, and a cloth bag for the tiles, but it all gets lumped into the box higgledy piggledy. That will just not do, no sir, not at all.A quick search on this site will turn up a handful of Isle of Skye box insert designs, and they are dandy as they are. But... I wanted something that took the bits I liked from all of them, mixed with a smidge of something more (if you have glanced at any of my other creations, you'll likely see the "Goldilocks" theme running strong and true).The foundation of these inserts are the elegant Isle of Skye Organizer boxes by zzzzzane. The changes I made consist of:I removed the Isle of Skye logo from the coin holder. It was a bit busy for me, and at the larger resolution I was printing at, it wouldn't have done it justice.I made lids for both holders, as when turned sideways it would have been inevitable that bits would have slipped out.I made both holders the same height, so that when the scorecard and box lid were in place there was only a little extra space, preventing the holder lids from dislodging and spilling their contents.I tweaked the outer wall and bottom thicknesses to be a little more consistent (2mm where applicable).As there was no holder for the front part of the player screens I found another nice solution that held all the screen pieces together (see below). To that end I re-purposed the slot for the player screen sides to be a spot for player castle marker tokens (see below).The player screen holder was borrowed from JeanDorthe's comprehensive Isle of Skye + extension Journey Man Insert Box. I don't currently have the expansion, and I liked the holders I had already found for the other bits a little better. The changes I made consist of:Widened the sides to fit more snugly in the box.I tweaked the wall and bottom thicknesses to be a little more consistent (2mm where applicable).As I have a Monoprice Select Mini, I had to chop the thing in half to print it. I split the model, added slots and splints. A bit of 5-minute epoxy, and it was as good as a single piece.While the game has a player "castle" tile, it gets easily lost in the jumble of other tiles that get placed. I wanted something more visible, and I suddenly found myself with an extra bit of storage space in a holder. So, why not print a player castle marker token? I lifted clean a simple yet evocative castle token from DiggyJ's extensive collection of Catan Player Tokens. All I did was scale it up a bit.Lastly, I didn't want all these nice holders for the game bits an pieces moving about it the box, so I took inspiration from brettmcgin's clever game box insert designs and developed a brace that uses minimal material while keeping everything in place. Again, with the MPSM, I had to subdivide the larger piece so I could print it. I added slots and splints, and glue is the magic that holds it all together. I found that the slots had slight variances in printing based on the angle, so I have a small variety of splints from 1.08mm to 1.50mm in thickness, so a mix-and-match will get the right combo for most folks.Where I was forced to spit a model for printing, I am providing both the split pieces and splints, as well as the full single piece model so folks with larger/smaller printers can choose the options that suit them best.
