Rome: Fate of an Empire - vase mode insert

This is an insert for Rome: Fate of an Empire , a game by Joe Klipfel published in a Solo Game of the Month series.

The whole series comes in VHS tape boxes, and Rome fills that box to the brim. I saw people struggling to fit all the components in, so as soon as I received the game, I have set out to make an insert that would protect the cards, and arrange them in a neat, tidy way.

I have decided to once again opt for my favourite: vase mode.
It is quick to print, light, and what's most important in this case: takes very little space away from the box, so that everything fits neatly. There's a separate tray for all the tokens, and the edges of the insert protect the cards from getting damaged by the plastic ribs inside the box.

The result is an insert with thin bottom and layers that might seem a bit flimsy, but don't be fooled by that: it will do its job well in a box, where every half millimetre counts. Plus the whole thing will use less than 25g of filament!

• Vase mode (this is crucial, the model is not going to work otherwise)

• 0.15mm layer height

• 3 (max 4) bottom layers

• 0.45-0.50 extrusion width

If you're not familiar with vase mode, model will look boxy and might not make a lot of sense when imported to the slicer, but when sliced, it should look something like this:

Print both models separately, as Vase mode can only handle one model at a time.

Once printed, put the 10 Edict cards in one section, with the token tray on top, and distribute the other cards evenly between the 3 other sections. Then put boards and rulebook on top, and you're good to go!
