Cosmic Encounter Game Board

Model Description

Customizable game board for Cosmic Encounter.

#### Changelog

**2018-05-12** Added destiny chips and ship tokens.
**2018-04-15** Original version.

#### System Hexes

You will need to print six system hexes, each in a different color. If you have the More Cosmic expansion, you may opt to use a model with one or two cutouts for moons.

##### Full System Hex

If you would like hexes in a single color, use one of the following models:

* `system_0_moon.stl`
* `system_1_moon.stl`
* `system_2_moon.stl`

##### Split System Hex

For a more traditional look, you may print each system hex in two pieces. Print the base of the hex in color, using one of the split bottom models:

* `system_0_moon_split_bottom.stl`
* `system_1_moon_split_bottom.stl`
* `system_2_moon_split_bottom.stl`

Then print the top of the hex in black, using the matching split top model:

* `system_0_moon_split_top.stl`
* `system_1_moon_split_top.stl`
* `system_2_moon_split_top.stl`

Then superglue the pieces together. This will give you a system hex that is black on top but has colored planet cutouts.

(Alternatively, you may try using the one-piece models and pausing the print to swap filament at the appropriate layer, but I have not had much luck with this technique.)

#### Void

Print one `void.stl` in black. If you fancy a dual-color void hex, you may instead use `void_split_bottom.stl` and `void_split_top.stl` as described above.

#### Destiny Cone

You will need to print two destiny cones. I recommend printing `destiny_cone_one_sided.stl` once in black and once in white or light gray. You may use them as two separate cones, or glue them together back-to-back for a more traditional "flip" approach.

Alternatively, if you'd like a single print, you may use `destiny_code_two_sided.stl` and perform a filament swap mid-print.

#### Destiny Chips

Rather than using a destiny card to select the target system, you may print destiny chips that can be selected from a bag. You'll need four chips for each system color -- three to represent a normal attack and one to represent an inverse attack. Each chip is made from two parts, an inside and an outside, which can be press-fit together with no glue. You will need:

* Print four `chip_outside.stl` in each of your six system colors.
* Print 18 `chip_inside.stl` in white or light gray.
* Print six `chip_inside.stl` in black.

You will also need a wild, and a wild inverse chip. These are can be done with a single solid color:

* Print one `chip.stl` in white or light gray.
* Print one `chip.stl` in black.

If you'd like to use any of the additional destiny cards included with More Cosmic Encounter, you can print some `clip.stl` in a separate color, and then draw from the deck when one of these is selected.

#### Ship Tokens

You may print ship tokens to match your system colors. For each system color, print 20 `ship.stl`. I prefer to print these in a higher resolution (100 micron) than the other pieces.

#### Disclaimer

This was designed specifically for the Mayfair edition. It will likely work for other editions as well, but I am not personally familiar with them. Please leave me a comment if you print this and use it for another edition.
