Multicolor Score Counter for Azul Board Game (0–99)

This design and these files were created specifically for my 3D printer. This means tolerances might be tight, and you may encounter some issues on your printer. It's not a perfect model—it has some quirks, and you might get frustrated (as I did through dozens of iterations). Please don't blame me for that. I'm just sharing the project as-is.

I've designed it with PETG in mind. PLA was too brittle, and the counter mechanism degraded over time. I'll leave it to you to experiment with other materials.

It's preferable to use some grease on the contact points of the moving mechanism. Otherwise, friction is quite high and it's hard to turn the wheels.

I designed it with 4 colors in mind (I use an AMS): beige, light blue, turquoise, and dark blue.

I printed it on my Bambu Lab P1S with AMS. I've shared the 3MF files so you can use the exact settings I ran.

If you will have problems with closing bottom with the top you can always just snap it off or cut it in slicer and then just glue them together.

HOW TO PRINT

Bottom: Nothing special—single color. 0.2 mm layer height.

Wheels: Dual color. You can set a color change by layer. Add ironing on the top surface for a better finish.

Top: This is the tricky part. I designed 3 separate models for the top part. In the slicer, assign each part a different color. It's important to position all 3 parts at the exact same location so they overlap perfectly. This way, with AMS, you'll get a true multicolor print. I've also included a pre-merged top (Top_Complete) if you'd rather paint the colors yourself.

To get the top surface texture shown in the pictures, set the top infill pattern to Hilbert Curve. I found that leaving the flow rate at 100% doesn't give a nice effect. For the best result, drop the flow rate to 65% for just the top layer—this highlights the pattern nicely. Make sure to enable ironing to make it even prettier.
