Battletech Mech Cages - storage and insert

I designed these cages to hold the Battletech mechs in the boxes so that when they're painted (once I get to that!) they aren't all rattling around.

They're designed to fit flush with the Beginner's Box or leave a bit of room in the Game of Armored Combat or Alpha Strike boxes (those two are a bit taller than the Beginner's Box). If using them in the AGoAC or AS boxes, there's enough room to fit maps, rulebooks, etc, without causing lid lift.

The BT-cages file is the basic one that fits most mechs. A few are taller though so I created the BT-cages-tall file. It can be paired with a BT-cages short file and they will take the space of two BT-cage files. In my picture, the top 3 are the "tall" cages and each has a "short" cage under it.

The BT-cages-clip file is an optional piece that holds the mechs even more securely in place. It simply slides into the rails after the mech is set into place.

The box is just a storage box that takes the place of 4 cages. Mine has cardboard terrain tokens, cards, and dice from the Beginner's Box and the Game of Armored Combat boxes. The lid on the storage box is pretty tight. That's on purpose so that it doesn't pop open during storage or transport.

Updates... I've added 3 new files with "building" at the end of the file name. These 3 files are similar to the mech cages except they can be flipped over and used as buildings in the game! The ones pictured were printed at a .2 mm layer height and came out well.

... Added two new "tall" boxes, both with the suffix "double". These double boxes have rails on either end which will allow shorter units (such as Elementals and vehicles) to be placed two in a cage.

... Added a corner building box. Takes up the space as 3 standard sized mech cages and holds 3 miniatures.

... Added a "short-double", which is a version of the short mech cage with rails on either end to hold 2 smaller vehicles.

... Added a couple of different sized token boxes with lids that can replace some mech cages to hold tokens, dice, etc.

... Added a standard sized "double", which has rails on either end of the cage.

... Added 2 new boxes. The first is called "double-wide" and is basically 2 cages stuck together side-by-side for those mechs that need a little extra elbow room. The second is "double-wide-3offset", which is the same as the double-wide but it also has an offset slot in the middle of the top which allows 3 mechs in the space! See the photo for an example.

... Added 2 new boxes. The "tall-double-wide" and the "tall-double-wide-3offset". Similar to the cages in the point above, but a "tall" version.
