I intentionally decided not to attempt having the lid snap fit or otherwise fasten to the base. Though there is probably a way to do it successfully, I felt it would be precarious and wanted to avoid giving the false sense of security. Eh, I'm still probably doomed to having them crash in an inky mess, but at least I can say I anticipated it :)
