Burgle Bros. 2 Board Game Insert / Organizer

This is an insert / organizer for Burgle Bros. 2. It includes the following features:

• Holds the optional miniatures in the base box (I applied a panel line accent wash to mine in the photos).

• Provides individual spaces for the small tokens used during the game, so you can access them directly without needing to sift through a pile of them.

• Provides an in-game tray that holds the other items commonly used during the game, including the heat markers, orange counting cubes, bouncer destination markers, blue dice, and green safe dice.

• Sorts the cards into individual slots, including separate slots for the character cards, gear cards, bouncer cards for floor 1, bouncer cards for floor 2, bouncer distracted cards, dead drop cards, pool event cards, and lounge event cards.

• Provides a setup tray that includes space for the walls, poker chips, the original wooden meeples, the meeples used during some of the finales, the heist rewards envelope, and the finale envelope.

To make it all fit, I removed the original insert pieces that came with the game, including removing the yellow holders for the sticks that elevate the box into a second floor. I really like laying the box flat on the table to provide a bit of lift for the second floor, but I did not want to use the sticks, so I removed them. As shown in the photos, the box closes nicely and it passes the upside-down shake test.

To achieve the insert as shown, print two of the Burgle Bros 2 Mini Holders, two Burgle Bros 2 Mini Holders Lids, two Burgle Bros 2 Mini Spacers, and one of everything else. The spacers go below the mini holders to bring them up flush with the top of the box.

The lids work fairly well, but I generally do not like to use lids in my inserts. It was pretty much unavoidable here given that the portion of the box that holds the miniatures flips upside down when closing the box. It was also helpful to add a lid to the small token organizer. I’m sure someone could improve the latching mechanisms that hold those lids in place. Right now, there is no latching at all. There is just a friction fit that will likely differ on your prints than it does on mine due to differences in calibration and settings. I have included the OpenSCAD files here so anyone can try to improve on the lid design or any other aspect of it.

I print using a 0.6 mm nozzle on coarse draft settings, so your prints will likely look better than mine.

Update March 23, 2026 : Based on a couple of reports that the minis fit very tightly in the slots, I expanded the slots so they are now 4.3 mm tall instead of 3.3 mm. If you would like the tray with extra clearance, please print two of "Burgle_Bros_2_Mini_Holders (Extra Clearance) x2." Please let me know if you encounter any issues with the revised tray.

Update March 27, 2026 : I updated the lids on the mini trays to have a few millimeters of additional clearance for use with the "extra clearance" mini trays. If you are running into clearance issues with the lids, please try the version with "Extra Clearance' in the filename.
