My Custom 3D Insert for Covenant (Essen 2025, Devir) – First Full Design!

I’m excited to share my own 3D-printed insert design for Covenant by Germán P. Millán, published by Devir and released officially at Essen Spiel 2025 (I was lucky enough to buy my copy there!).

Honestly, I simply can’t add a new game to my collection without sleeving the cards and building a custom insert. There are always great community designs out there, but this time I wanted the challenge of creating my own organizer for a game from one of the best Spanish designers out there (Bitoku, Sabika, Men-Nefer). It’s also my first fully custom insert project for any game—so I’d love to get your feedback!

Design Features:

Supports vertical storage.

Compatible with premium sleeves (I used King Sleeves, 63.5mm x 88mm, which are almost 95mm long).

Objective tiles tray, includes space for the Essen ‘25 promo tile.

Individual player organizer boxes hold everything needed for clan setup, including storage/double-key tiles, with a sliding lid that fits under the tray during play.

Gems, enemy, and rubble trays feature in-game icons you can multicolor print.

I love the enemy pieces so much I didn’t want them hidden in a bag: I made two options—one big tray for all of them, or a stackable tray so you can see the enemy faces as soon as you open the box (see pictures for details).

• Most trays are tabletop-ready and can be taken straight out of the box for fast setup and storage.

About the print settings:

I’m relatively new to 3D printing—I got my printer just this summer to start making inserts myself, so I’ll gladly welcome any tips or suggestions!

Printed on BambuLab P1S with AMS, 0.4mm nozzle, 0.2mm layer height.

Mostly used matte PLA, except for gold and silver (regular PLA basic). I’d love to have painted the inside of the silver gem red like in the game, but haven’t yet managed proper five-color layer printing.

The trays for tradition, starting, and project tiles can be customized/colored using the debossed geometry (see the objective tile tray for an example).

• Enemy box and rubble tray require supports (I set them per-part).

I’m looking forward to your thoughts and see your prints! I hope some of you find this insert useful or inspiring! Enjoy, and happy gaming!

- Rubble tiles were failing out when trying move the piece into the box, therefore I created a new version with lid.
