Overview

This is an organizer/insert for the board game Cascadia. All of the components for the base game and the Landmarks expansion have a place, even for cards that are sleeved. Additionally, I enjoy using this 3d printed stump with pinecones in my game, so there is a spot specifically reserved for it in the organizer.

The full organizer is split into 4 modules which I'll call the Hex Tile Organizer , the Animal Card Organizer , the Landmark Card Organizer , and the Starter Tile Organizer.

• The Hex Tile Organizer holds all of the tiles currently available for Cascadia. It is split into 4 sections which allow you to organize the tiles by type (base/regular, base/keystone, landmarks/regular, landmarks/keystone) if you'd like. There are slots modeled into the sides of the organizer to help pick it up out of the box.

• The Animal Card Organizer is simply a deck box that holds all of the available animal cards for Cascadia (including promo cards). There is an optional sliding top provided as part of this organizer.

• The Landmark Card Organizer provides space for all of the landmarks cards. An optional sliding top is also provided for this organizer.

• The Starter Tile Organizer provides space for all 10 starter tiles across the base game and the Landmarks expansion. As with the normal tiles, there are two areas to place the starter tiles and you can separate them by expansion if desired. This module also has a well for holding all of the landmark tokens and, if desired, pens/pencils. Lastly, the half-cover for this organizer (which slides in place) has a cutout for placing the 3d-printed stump (default size as provided in the linked model ). Even if you choose not to print the stump, this lid is required as it will prevent the tokens from falling out of the tray in the box.

After inserting these organizers into the box, there is still room for the bag of animal tokens, both scorepads, both instruction manuals, and the original cardboard pinecones if you like to keep them around. As mentioned, the lids for the Animal Card and Landmark Card Organizers are optional as the cards will stay in place due to the way they are positioned in the box.

Printing Tips

**SIZE NOTE** : Two of the models in this organizer approach and possibly exceed the size of some print beds on the market. The Hex Tile Organizer measures 232.5mm in length and the Starter Tile Organizer base measures 229.125 in width.

No supports are required for any of the models. I printed mine at .2mm layer heights in PLA on a Bambu X1C. I suggest using Arachne wall generation if your slicer supports it.

Filaments used in pictures (multiple because I ran out of filament twice): Overture Matte PLA (Chocolate), Hatchbox Wood-PLA (Brown), and Elegoo PLA (Beige). Suggested printing orientations are shown in the provided pictures.

Slimmer Tile Walls Update - Feb 8 2025

Some users have noted that there is not quite enough space for all of their tiles. I'm really sorry about that! It's strange as my tiles all fit and I counted my tiles to ensure I have all of them. Regardless, I've uploaded two new versions of the Hex Tile Organizer :

• HexTileOrganizer_ThinTileWalls.3mf: the interior walls have been slimmed to 0.8mm (from 1mm), while the internal separators have been slimmed to 0.6mm (from 1mm).

• HexTileOrganizer_ThinTileWallsNoSeparators.3mf: same modifications to the exterior walls as HexTileOrganizer_ThinTileWalls.3mf, but the separators have been fully removed in order to offer even more space in the organizer.

Note: I have not printed these models so I cannot attest to the real-life space savings. It is possible that the space saving is more (or less) than expected as 3d printing has a limit on precision.

Both of these options have the same exterior footprint as the original HexTileOrganizer so there is no need to reprint any of the other organizers. I've also uploaded the associated .step and .f3d files if you'd like to modify the model yourself.

Regarding sleeves

I've used decent quality sleeves for my cards so it is likely that your sleeved cards will fit. The Animal cards are sleeved with GameGenic matte tarot-sized sleeves and the Landmarks cards are sleeved with MayDay mini-euro premium sleeves. I'm sure there are nicer sleeves available that might be bulkier and have larger dimensions, so if you have concerns about this organizer working with your sleeves, try cutting up the models and doing some test prints before printing the entire design.
