Imagine your gaming party finding a city with a strange obelisk with various hieroglyphics. You visit this place every once in a while trying to find the hidden treasure or mystery of the ancient city which you feel is in the inscriptions. It has been while and when you return again the same obelisk is in disarray as if someone has been attempting to destroy the obelisk unsuccessful or perhaps it has aged poorly.
This has two obelisks. One pristine and the other is the same obelisk falling apart.
