DnD Telescopic Flying Bases
Please support MJ925 by Liking/Boosting their Print on MakerWorld.
I’ve designed weighted bases to use with telescopic magnetic poles so you can set your flying monsters at different heights during your D&D sessions – and adjust them on the fly!
🔹 How it works:
• The bases hold a telescopic metal pole with a magnetic tip .
• Just attach a small washer underneath your minis or printed monsters, and they’ll snap right on.
• You can smoothly raise or lower the flying height to match the action at the table.
🔹 Base options:
• Available in Medium and Large sizes.
• Compatible with my stackable D&D condition rings and monster trackers 👉 link here .
• Underside has slots for metal washers (3–4 pieces) to add weight for extra stability.
• Medium base: washers ~20mm OD, 10mm ID.
• Large base: washers ~40mm OD, 14mm ID.
• Washers are optional, bases still work without them.
• I used the Easyfix Mixed Washers set from Screwfix 👉 link here .
🔹 Telescopic poles:
• Cheap and easy to find on Amazon 👉 this pack .
• Just unscrew the pen clip and friction-fit into the printable base.
The magnetic top locks neatly onto the washer embedded in your minis – simple, sturdy, and super versatile. Perfect for dragons, harpies, demons, or anything else that likes to swoop around!
The example photo shown is actually from an underwater level where we used them to let characters swim up and down while fighting Aboleths – worked perfectly!
