The Thing The Boardgame, Custom Inserts.

This is a custom set of inserts that I designed and printed for “The Thing” The Boardgame. This uses magnets to hold the lids on and will allow for every thing in the basegame, expansion and kickstarter addons to fit inside the base game box. The only things that won't fit are the game boards, there just wasn't enough room to make that work. Instead both the base game and expansion folding boards can fit inside the Norwegian expansion white box. I have the playmat, so if I am not playing the expansion, I can take this box and the mat and I am good to go.
This is an intermediate print, The prints take a long time and you have to program in a pause to allow for the magnets to be inserted. Support is half needed. Set support for “from build surface only” do not turn on internal supports as it will eat in to the room needed for the magnets. The magnets I use are K&J D42B-N52 1/4" Diameter, 1/8" thick. Link below. It is very important to make sure you are inserting the magnets the correct way so that they attract and don't repel. I use the color rubber coated magnets from K&J to help identify the magnetic poles.
I printed most of the big pieces with 8%infill and 4 shells to save weight and material. They are plenty durable in my experience. The lids are printed with 35% infill. All was printed using PETG.
This design is meant to accommodate sleeved cards and sleeved character cards. The card sleeves are the dragon shields 63x88mm, The character sleeves are from sleevekings and are a little big, but I am fine with it, nobody makes an exact sleeve for those.
As for the design itself, This was many hours of design, test-print and actual printing. I am pretty locked into this and probably won't be willing to make changes at this point. I realize others may have different preferences for certain aspects of the design, feel free to remix it, I am not sure I am going to have time to accommodate requests, sorry.

I ended up doing my own inserts before realizing @RDewsbery had started some. A lot of info is up on the printables page. But here is a summary: * Uses embedded Magnets (inserted during pause and covered over) to hold lids and sections together. * Holds all pieces for base, expansion and KS Addons, Only thing it doesn't hold is the folding boards. (Does not hold standees, as the mini's replace them in the KS version. * is meant for sleeved cards. Link to files:
