Catan Card Tray (54x80 Cards) - Catan: Cities & Knights

This is a remix for https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:4303881 created by marvin_42. The card tray is designed with the Settlers of Catan expansion Cities & Knights which introduces several more cards for game play. I really loved this design, it was super slick and functional, however it does not fit the cards used here in the US which are 54x80mm. Because of the increased card size please note that this requires a print bed size of at least 250mm.

As I’m also not super fond of threading screws into plastic I took the opportunity to make a couple of alternative solutions, however kept the original option of threading the screw into plastic because realistically its not likely to matter.

So included are three versions (all three versions use the same "bars"):

54x80 Catan Card Tray (Screws Into Plastic) :

The only thing changed here is the card tray size.

54x80 Catan Card Tray (Brass Inserts) :

This version has a hole to use a M3 brass heatset insert. It is sized for an insert with an Outer Diameter or 5mm, and length of 3mm as these are what I had on hand, and also didn’t require any change to the original side wall thickness, I was able to just increase the size of the hole.

54x80 Catan Card Tray (Captive M3 Nut)

This version uses a captive M3 nut. It will require a slightly longer screw, probably 10mm Length.

For the bars I have included the originals, and then a pair with a slightly larger hole, and another pair that doesn’t have a countersink in case you want to use a socketcap or panhead screw. If you choose to use the flat bar you may need a slightly longer screw, I did not test this use case.

Captive Nuts : 14xM3 Nuts, 14x M3x8 countersunk screws and 14x M3 washers
