HEAT Box Insert - Base & 3 Expansions (HR,TV,RR)
Plate Details (14)
Plate Details (5)
This version has been set to private, but it is kept for posterity. Also, the Paddock system is kind of neet, so go at it if you want. I can confirm it will be able to store the contents of LEGENDS as well.
---
This insert is purpose-built for the complete HEAT collection: base game, Heavy Rain , Tunnel Vision , and Rocky Roads .
This is not compatible with sleeves . Fitting four boxes' worth of components into a single one was challenging.
This is for owners of the core game and all three expansions . Partial collection owners are welcome to give it a print, though upright storage won't work as intended. My earlier 2-expansion insert may be a better fit for you .
- Snap-fit lids . Every tray is enclosed and secured with cantilever clips. No loose components.
- Labelled lids. Two-tone printing makes every tray instantly identifiable.
- Dedicated car storage. Each car gets its own card tray and component tray for fast, easy distribution.
- Board stabilizers. Custom spacers keep race boards locked in place during storage.
- Expansion tray. A large spare tray accommodates custom components such as 3D-printed buildings (maybe even future content).
- Card Tabs. These can be printed to help manage your collection.
- No lid-lift. Enough said…
Legends is the next upcoming expansion and is reportedly card-only. It is hard to predict just how my design will be compatible until the expansion is actually in my hands. I expect some of the trays to work, while others may not (the garage upgrades are starting to get tight). That being said, I expect the expansion tray will be able to cover any overflow, while the card tabs can help organize by combining contents in other boxes.
Each car has its own dedicated enclosure, dubbed a "paddock." Individually printed for easy distribution, each one keeps a single car's components neatly separated and ready to hand out.
The housing uses a cantilever snap-fit clip. Once pushed in, you will hear a click that indicates it is properly seated. A rear-facing window gives you access to push the clip and release the paddock cleanly.
The housing fits both the car and the gear stick.
- Fill the box with every game board . Push them in any corner (in this example, they pushed to the top right).
- Add one spacer on each side . This will avoid any movement from the game boards.
- Slide in the scoring pads vertically on either of the sides.
- Place the manuals on top of the game boards
- Set the mats on top of the manuals (player mats, legends mat, championship).
- Optional - Organize all of them so they fit one edge of the box. In this example, they are aligned on the north edge of the box.
Note: The rest of the instructions can be rearranged in any way you see fit There are many configurations possible. This is my preferred method, but I do not claim it is the absolute best arrangement.
- Set 6 garages on the left side of the box
- Place the Extension bin at the bottom left of the box
- Place the Weather bin at the bottom right of the box (Note: this bin stores both the weather tokens and cards)
- Place any Big bin on the left of the Weather bin (Sponsors, Advanced upgrades, Heat, Stress).
- Place the Player bins in any order, in stacks of three. This will give you three stacks (3 x 3)
- Place the rest of the Card bins as you see fit , aligned next and below the Player bins
- Place the four remaining garages in the space that is left. The one that is aligned between the vertical and horizontal row of garages will need to be placed with the housing facing up.
The profile takes care of the files and multiples you need to print. This list is provided in case you choose to set up your own profile manually.
- 9 x Player Bins
- 9 x Garages
- 2 x Spacer
- 1 x Filler box
- 4 x Card bin - Box - Full (Sponsors, Advanced upgrades, Heat, Stress)
- 3 x Card bin - Box - Half (Lengends, Basic upgrades, Campaign)
- 1 x Card Bin - Box - Half - Media
- 1 x Weather Bin - Box
Every box has its own lid, and there is one housing for each car. Except for the Weather bin and Extension Box, every lid is going to be the same size. This should produce 28 unique items. Note - You will need to print 2 x lids for the Upgrades bin.

If you like what you see , there are two ways you can help me make more designs.
An easy way is to boost me through Makerworld. Another way to help out is to (via Ko-Fi).
Boost Me If you print any of these and they work well for you, a boost on MakerWorld is a great way to show it. Boosts earn me points I can put toward filament, materials, and parts, which matters more than it sounds. Every design here went through multiple prints before I was happy with it. Either way, happy printing.
