Robo Rally 2023 Insert (remix less plastic)

Model Description

I loved the player trays from the original file, they are brilliant and if you want a more rugged solution they just go for them as they stand. They save so much faff, just hand each player a tray and concentrate on board setup. This is a more reserved approach, mainly using less plastic, and allow for side storage. Changes are:

- Player Tray: Uses less than half of the original design plastic. Also includes a 'lip' that keeps neighbouring cards in place; and a parts lid; which when coupled with the "starting board" means that this can be stored on its side now. 3 should print ok on a 200x200 print bed at once (6 need total).
- Deck tray: Uses less than half the plastic, and I opted for 1 tray; the original design has a nice space for a discard pile, but I decided to sack this off. The deck has a lid so that it can again be kept on its side.
- Map piece tray: New addition; I keep an energy token in each of the player trays, so there are only two left over, and this solution allows you to stack the flags in order so no need to search for numbers - concentrate on the important stuff. This has a lid again so it can be stored on its side.

There is a lot of room left in the box - I made a 220x200x32 box to fill the space - I think this will likely be a nice place for some expansions (mainly master builder, I think the 6x6 grids will fit in here nicely, and the map pieces will fit in that dead space there at the moment).

Between the top of the map boards and the top of the closed box is quiet a bit of space - meaning that if you do store on its side, it can wobble and everything come out. I made 4 cubes for each corner of the lid that keep things in place (blue tacked in place) - you can change the depth of these cubes then to fit the expansions. I am pretty convinced you would be able to fit most (if not all)available expansions into this box.

Note: I need some filament so I will upload the images with the card lid, map piece lid and player tray lids and delete this text once I have.

Enjoy!
