These are replacement game tiles for the classic board game, Acquire . Acquire was invented by the legendary game master Sid Sackson . It was originally published by 3M in 1964, and was later published by Avalon Hill, and others. The original version of the game has been out of print for decades, and is mostly kept by enthusiasts and collectors. If you have one of the original games, and can no longer play it because of lost or damaged tiles, this model is for you.

If you like Acquire, you can find everything you need here on Makerworld. All of it is 3D printable: Game board , game tiles , stock certificate cards and chips (to replace paper money) .

The original game board had a 9x12 grid and space for 108 tiles. Accordingly, this design provides all 108 tiles. If you only need a small number of tiles to replace what you have lost, open the print file in Bambu Studio, save a copy as a backup, and then delete the tiles that you don't need.

In terms of ease of printing, and structure, almost any type of filament will work here. However, there are real differences in terms of how good the letters/numbers look. Some PLA that I tried was a bit too translucent, so that the characters didn't stand out as much as I wanted. It was Bambu PETG-HF that I ultimately used because the tiles looked so good. But I am sure others will work too. I included a photo comparing different filaments.

A complete print profile is included. But if you want to DIY, I have included separate stl files for both the tiles and numbers/letters. In Bambu Studio, these numbers/letters files would be loaded as modifiers to the appropriate half of the game board. Both the tiles and the numbers/letters should be flipped upside down. I adjusted the modifiers to a 2.76 mm Z position, which allows the text to be flush with the surface of the tile when the tiles are printed upside down. Each modifier tile includes half of the numbers/letters. You will need to adjust the position of the modifier in order for the characters to appear in the center of the tiles. But they should be spaced pretty well once you find the right position. For the complete 108 tile set, you will want to print both print plates.

This is a two-color print that very much benefits from the AMS. If you print half of the tiles at a time (as designed), the print profile includes 10 filament changes and a total flush volume (waste) of 4.3 grams of filament. If you only print one or a few tiles, you probably won't save a lot of waste filament, sadly. But it is a small price to pay for one of the world's great board games!
