Twilight Imperium tiered galaxy frame off-map system tile holder

This is a holder designed specifically for my TI map frame with tiered interlocking components. This accessory will let you attach the Wormhole Nexus (if you have the Prophecy of Kings expansion) and the Creuss home system as a floating off map tile sitting at about 10cm in height. I plan to add more height variants as print profiles later or upon request. If you have the Thunder's Edge expansion, the Crimson Rebellion home system will fit as well.

The accessory consists of 3 parts:

• A base that you can attach using the same OpenLock system to the rest of the frame assembly

• A shaft that connects from the base to the off-map system tile

• The actual system tile holder, which will appear floating over the main map, but not in a way that protrudes over it, tilted outwards (it's possible to turn it in 4 different positions though).

🏗️ Printing advice

To use this model, please refer to the main model for tips & advice on how to print & connect the pieces together.

🚨 IMPORTANT: enabling supports is strongly advised for the shaft piece only.

You can use Bambu Lab Sparkle filament for a more “galaxy / starry night ” look (especially the black onyx variant). Probably you can use the red one for the Crimson Rebellion, if you'd like, or the purple one for something different than the rest of the base frame.

If you print this with a Bambu Sparkle filament, I have found that 60mm/s 30% worked well in the ironing settings.

🌀 Wormhole Nexus variants

I have added 2 print profiles for the Wormhole Nexus since the standard model has the spiral edges going in one direction only and that wouldn't allow you to flip the tile as per game rules.

• Variant A (my favorite) - requires to glue two halves of the tile holder “disc” together: this is very simple, just use some superglue and takes 5 min. This will allow you to flip the whole “disc” and the place the tile accordingly. Since the hole to connect to the shaft goes through, it's a bit more loose, but that's intended.

• Variant B - this is like the standard pieces except the tile can move freely inside so it's easy to flip without having to glue pieces, or having to filp the model along with the tile. In fact, you can use this variant also with the Creuss home system or the Crimson rebellion home system if you'd like.
