Nemesis Retaliation 6 player addon
Please support WindyWombat by Liking/Boosting their Print on MakerWorld.
Adding a 6th player to Nemesis is possible, all you need is the backpack, a dashboard and a way to make the player elimination cards work. All the other components are compatible and I have done similar with the original nemesis previously.
The parts have all been designed to match the game styling and fit in the excellent insert by Hextra at (https://makerworld.com/en/models/1667725-nemesis-retaliation-insert) and fits in the insert as well with no change to the lid lift height. Backpacks 1-5 are available there if needed.
The dashboard is not fancy, its a simple one (no dial but uses a universal marker cube) and should be given to the most experienced player as it does not have the player aid part or additional text found on the originals. One thing to be aware of is the correct application of the oxygen running out and the player death mechanics. Once Oxygen is on the last square, when it moves off that square is when the suffocating token is given to a player and the cube returned to the last square. Then next time it moves off the bottom square they die. Also with the health, that last spot on the right does not mean the player is dead, it is their last gasp of life, once it is moved off the last square they are dead. You can use a grey or white and a sharpie to colour in the card slots too if thats your jam. I went with simple, but a full colour 3mf is in there too with separate bodies on the card slots to make it easy to colour paint.
Lastly the player elimination cards are an addition to the setup of the game. When you hand out the two objective cards, simply add on one of these player cards as well. If the player has a “eliminate player X" card, then they refer to the printed player card to determine the target instead of the number on the original card. If there is any effects that show the mission card (original Nemesis had them), then you show the player elimination target card as well to the person looking, even if the missions is not a kill player x card. Just to keep the suspense going.
There is a 1mm and 2mm versions of the Player Cards, so there is options on how flash you want to go. When I printed the white on black 1mm, the black showed through (single card image) so darker colour over light should be fine. There is also plenty of space to store them in the various discard slots in the insert. I went with white on black to match my dashboards so they are super obvious on the table, but obviously its your choice. I would stick to a dark colour on the back though so they are all the same when viewed from the rear.
Otherwise, all the other components are used as usual. I have only played the base game so far, so am not sure if there is some odd interactions with player count in the expansion races or not but I am not expecting any issues.
