Terraforming Mars: The Dice Game Insert With Included Dice Tray - Now Holds Expansion!
Please support Zippy11 by Liking/Boosting their Print on Thingiverse.
***Update 25 Jun 26: I have made some major edits to the insert. Now it holds all the content from the Missions expansion. If you are downloading this for the first time, just download everything already in the files and you should be good. If you have previously downloaded the insert, all you need to print are the following replacement parts:
- TMDG_EXP_Cards
- TMDG_EXP_Dice+Special Tiles
- TMDG_EXP_Misc
Everything else can stay the same!***
Welcome to the ultimate Terraforming Mars: The Dice Game insert! This functional insert holds everything you need and allows for setup and teardown in a fraction of the time (I clocked about a minute) while also being able to aid in play itself!
Some features:
- Two dice/city tile trays for ease of access
- A card drawing chute with a spacer for discards
- A separate tray for specialty hexes and ocean tiles
- Four dice trays for each person to track their dice
- A custom dice tower to pass around and use with each player's dice tray
- Holds all expansion content
-Fits sleeved cards
This insert requires no supports when printing, and the only post-processing work is putting the dice tower together, which is a very quick process - and once it's put together you never need to disassemble it. The four dice trays should nest into each other in pairs (smaller into larger) and sit one pair under and one pair on top of the dice tower in the insert. Also note that some parts need to have multiple copies printed - these are noted in the names of the files with an (x2) in them (to print two copies). Everything else should just be printed once except for the fully-assembled dice tower which is there as an ALTERNATE.
Take a look at the pictures and gif to see how everything fits together, but this is a very easy-to-print insert that will speed up setup and teardown and make playing the game much less fiddly and much more enjoyable.
Note 1: I included a fully-assembled dice tower without parts in case you want to test your printer's bridging settings, though I have not tested this version and can't speak to how well it would print.
Note 2: Some of the pictures contain slightly out-of-date features (for example the slide-in wall of the dice tower is shorter in the preview but the actual file has it the same length as the opposite wall). The files are the most up-to-date and everything is better. If you have any questions please let me know.
Thingiverse link . If you've printed the insert before, you only need to print three parts to update it - everything else stays the same. Here are some pics with the expansion:
