HBS Kodiak for Battletech
Plate Details (1)
Being Clan Ghost Bear's totem mech, it symbolizes everything Ghost Bear represents. One of the many things this mech is known for, is its savagery. The claws built into the mech can be used in deadly physical attacks… but as all Clans know physical combat is distasteful and dishonorable. And so, this design ended up being very controversial amongst the Clans.
Hobby builders models must be built from many bits and parts and allow for maximum customization and/or kitbashing maybe. For people who like model kits.
------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
This is one of the most ambitious models I have posted (to date). THE FIRST BATTLEMECH MINIATURE TO HAVE UPPER AND LOWER ARM JOINT ARTICULATION! Both shoulders and elbows can be rotated with more limitation on shoulder due to details and design.
PLEASE NOTE: Articulation is intended to aide in pose construction, this means once you get desired pose, glue it. It is not quite action figure quality with ability to simply pose it time and time again.
If you hate the idea of having to build this model from small parts, be sure to check out my other Kodiak , it prints in one part (with lower overall quality) but without the hassle of building, and if you wanted a whole star per plate, you can do that too.
--------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------------
Comes with 5 main bodies in varying amounts of torso being twisted, 3 different sets of legs you can mix and match, and arms that come in 3 pieces for each arm. (not every pose or part is pictured). All parts should be glued when finished.
The pair of Legs, set very close to the edge of the plate are in a running pose. This pose is not ideal, because only one leg can be glued to base and other will be hanging outside the base. Use how you so choose.
Print Recommendations:
This model only needs 9 parts (plus a long pin to help in support cleanup) to make a complete mech. There are many parts provided, and I recommend only printing the bare minimum needed for one complete miniature and hexbase in a separate print. If you do print everything, please use glue.
This was designed from scratch for the 0.2 nozzle and will PROBABLLY not work with a 0.4.
PLEASE READ: DURING SUPPORT CLEANUP:
THIS MODEL IS VERY TRICKY TO REMOVE SUPPORT FROM UPPER ARM PARTS, I FIGURED OUT AN EASYISH TRICK THAT MIGHT HELP YOU.
Remove support from everything EXCEPT upper arm parts. slide in lower arm into upper arm and the very long pin to hold in place. then continue to remove support as normal. This is to avoid snaping upper arm features used to connect lower arm to it. Use the very long pin for both arms, simply remove it when don and use it again for other arm. IF YOU USE SMALL PINS YOU WONT BE ABLE TO EASILY GET THEM OUT AGAIN to put glue later.
Boost Me Enjoy the experience building? consider boosting!
Assembly:
1: Line up lower arm with upper arm, put glue on bottom of upper arm part, and dab of glue inside hole where pin will go.
2: put small pin in arm. rotate arm to desired position. repeat steps 1 and 2 for both arms.
3: glue legs to body in desired position.
4: put some glue between where arms connects to body and rotate to desired position.
