Spirit Island Insert: For the Base Game and All Expansions Including Nature Incarnate

I have been reluctant to design an insert with Nature Incarnate coming out and future expansions planned beyond that. If it's just going to be out of date in a year or two, why print one? I don't want to have to design and reprint an entirely new insert every couple of years. However, with close to 200 physical games of spirit island played having an easier set up would be nice.

With that in mind, my design goal was to have a functional insert that would fit Nature Incarnate. I also wanted to have the room to fit another expansion after that with minimal redesign and reprinting. I think I have succeeded. You can think of this as version 1.0 (with version 1.1 coming with the expansion after Nature Incarnate). This insert will hold the Branch and Claw, Feather and Flame, Jagged Earth, and Nature Incarnate expansions. It will also hold the player tokens, spirit panels and unique powers from Horizons of Spirit Island.

The insert requires the Base Game and the Jagged Earth boxes with one being a Token Box and the other being a Card Box. They are able to be stored vertically. I have some notes below on things you should look out for with each box. I tried to design this with sleeved cards and the premium tokens in mind. Sleeved cards will fit as I was able to test them (I used KMC HyperMats). I do not know if the premium tokens will fit as I don't have them, but I tried to allow for extra room in most of the design to fit the thicker tokens. You will have too much room if you have the thin foil spirit panels. If Greater Than Games ever releases the non-foil spirit boards (like Horizons) for the rest of the spirits I may do a redesign to account for the thinner spirit boards.

Card Box:

This box is pretty simple. The 3 holders will fit sleeved cards. The rest of the box is empty except for the Branch and Claw Board (which I never use, so I don't know why I keep it around) and the 3 spirit boards that don't fit in the Token Box. These spirit boards keep the card holders roughly in place for now. The 8 new spirit boards from Nature Incarnate will find a home in this box.

Token Box:

Layer 1 includes a token container for all of the new Nature Incarnate tokens. I have some dahan in this container for now as they don't all fit in the container with the rest of the dahan. If you want to separate the dahan from the Nature Incarnate tokens when they arrive you can print the file SI_Additional_Part. It is a little divider that will help keep them separate. Feel free to move around where the tokens are placed when Nature Incarnate arrives. I don't know yet where the best place for all of the tokens will be. I just tried to ensure that there was a spot for all of them.

Layer 1 also has a container that holds the elements. These might not permanently stay here. In a future version of this insert I may design a container that holds all of the different types of elemental tokens separately.

Layer 1 is also tall enough to fit two more island boards. I did this in case boards G and H are printed in a future expansion outside of Horizons of Spirit Island.

Finally for layer 1, the base game scenario tokens barely fit in the space they are in. You do have to stack them as I have done for them to fit.

Layers two, three, and four have no additional notes. The rest of the space is taken up by the spirit boards and the invader board. 1 rulebook is placed in the box to help keep everything in its place. The rest of the rulebooks are placed in the Card Box.
