**This post has spoilers for Shy Pluto and Terra Proxima.**
This is an updated insert / organizer for the Space Base Command Station box. It holds the base game, Genesis, Emergence of Shy Pluto, Terra Proxima, Biodome, the Dreadnaught Pack, and the Dead Reckoning Promos. It is an update to my previous organizer, which did not support the most recent Genesis expansion. Here are some features:
• Individual player trays for storing the starting cards; pre-deployed sector 7 and 8 cards; VP, income, and money markers; charge cubes; and forecast cubes.
• Two ship token, bonus dice, and ship die trays, one for each end of the table.
• Two trays for holding the base colony cards. These can come straight out of the box and are already set up for play using the base game rules. When using the alternate colony cards from the expansions, I shuffle and choose six alternate colonies. I then place those over the existing base colonies that are already on the grid, flipping over the base game colony cards.
• Separate card trays for the level 1, level 2, level 3, alternate colony, and forecast cards, all of which can be placed directly on the table.
• Space for seven sets of acrylic overlays from BoardgameBoost, which help prevent the VP, income, and money markers from sliding if the table is nudged. Similarly sized 3D printed or other acrylic overlays should also fit. And if you don’t have these overlays, you could use the tray to hold something else.
• Support for the sleeves provided with the Command Station, as well as support for sleeves from Sleeve Kings.
• A small tray for holding extra sleeves or cards you remove from the game. We play with all of them, but I understand that some people prefer to remove the “You Win” cards, for example. Those can go in the spare card tray.
• Supports vertical storage.
And here is a video overview of the insert:
To achieve the insert as shown, print each tray the number of times specified in the file name (e.g., print eight of the player trays) and one of everything else. The photos show how to layer all the trays, player boards, and manuals in the box.
I have included the original OpenSCAD files in case anyone wants to improve on the design for non-commercial purposes.
This is an updated insert / organizer , but for now here is an image of the primary trays.
