Magnetic Wingspan bird card box and bird tray

This box fits all bird cards from the base game and both the Europe ans Oceania Expansions.

This box uses two sets of two 6x3mm (4 total, diameter x thickness) neodymium magnets not secure the lid of the box which is also a replacement for the bird tray once you turn it around. For this to work it is critical to get the orientation of the magnets correct, otherwise the lid only fits one way and can't be used as a bird tray. Only push them in halfway and test the arrangement before fully pushing or gluing the in place.

The magnets hold the lid securely but they aren't strong enough to hold everything if you hold the fully filled box upside down. As it is quite tall you will probably get a little bit of lid lift on your game box if you store the manual inside. It doesn't fit next to the player mats (where the dice tower is meant to be) because the length of the cards is more than the width of the dice tower.

Sleeved cards probably won't fit.

Because the height of the box is pretty much at the limit of what can fit in the original game box modifying it for sleeved cards or extra birds from future expansions will require a total redesign. I will come around to it once the expansion (whenever that may be) releases, but doing that work for accommodating sleeves i don't use is a bit much. But feel free to use my files and modify them to your liking.
