Point Salad Travel Box

Please support ShadowLink by Liking/Boosting their Print on Printables.

A travel-sized box for the Point Salad board game. The original game box is 3x the size it needs to be and made of cardboard - this plastic box is just large enough for the cards and much sturdier for packing.

You will need to print 1 box and 1 lid.

If you print with 0.2mm layers, then a color change at layer 14 on the lid will let you make the logo a different color like in the picture.

Update 11-27-25: Added "tall" box variant that should be tall enough to fit a stack of sleeved cards. Another option is to simply print 2 copies of the original.

How I Designed This

I originally tried to use this customizable card box generator ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2404395 ), but I was having a lot of trouble getting the "Stencil-o-Matic" to handle the Point Salad logo correctly. Instead, I was able to do it manually using TInkercad. But I realized that the logo would look much much better if it were a different color so it would pop. Given that this box prints vertically, I'd have to do a cutout of the logo, print them separately, and glue it on afterwards. After playing around with this for a while, I realized that it would be too much work and the logo is a funny shape so who knows if the tolerances would work out nicely.

I then started over, and used the ultimate box generator ( https://www.thingiverse.com/thing:2594893 ), which makes horizontal boxes; so the logo color change wouldn't be a problem. I've also used it a few times before. This was a lot more straightforward to do, though I first tried the "enhanced" snaps that were added earlier this year and those just don't work at all. I'm not sure what the intention was, but the lid physically won't fit because of the bumps it adds - I guess the corresponding slots in the box are not right or something. Anyway, luckily I was able to reprint just the lid with the regular snaps and everything is good now. If you know what to look for, you can see where the enhanced snaps were supposed to go into the box, but it's not a problem and not worth me reprinting the entire box just for that. (The design uploaded here doesn't have that)
