About the Game

3AIO, or 3 Abstracts In One, is a print-and-play abstract game where players play on three boards simultaneously. Each of the three boards has exactly 91 cells to play on, with one board shaped like a triangle, one like a rectangle, and one as a hexagon. All three boards are pure placement games, but each have a different win condition. Players are trying to win at least 2 out of the 3 boards to achieve a victory.

On a player's turn, they must play a stone on to each of the three boards. Every space on the three boards is coloured in one of sever colours, and all three stones placed on a turn must be placed on spaces of the same colour. In this way, your desire to respond to a threat on one board may be curtailed by where you would be forced to play on another board.

The first board, the "A" board is a connection game, with players attempting to connect all three sides of the board with a contiguous chain of their stones. The second board, the "I" board, is a simple majorities game, where players are trying to control the majority of rows within the board. On the last board, the "O" board, whichever player has the largest group of their stones wins.
