Their decision to move the Brazilian capital from Bahia to Rio de Janeiro created conflicting alliances among the families in Bahia. Should they be loyal to the crown and the new capital of Rio de Janeiro, or be allied to the former capital of Bahia when exporting their goods? In this time of political upheaval, corruption was rampant in the land of Bahia. To be successful, one must spend political influence wisely and cash in bribes at the opportune time...
