About the Game

Small, conventional hex&counter format - 6 hexes Smolensk to Moscow, 14 German ground and 3 air units, initially 18 Russian ground and 3 air and then 6 reinforcement units - corps to army/level, albeit with the troublesome Kazakh Panfilov division. Variable piece size optional units/pieces, according to unit level/size. Simplified game play - no movement stopping Zones of Control for German corps and sub-front Russian units and BReakthrough combat result instead of multiple movement phases, reminiscent of my War Against Russia well-liked here in Oslo. Disruption, for momentum and/or inertia. 7 half-month turns, October to January I, so it should be a fairly fast play. Historical Russian setup on map, but Russians can vary that at the cost of 1 victory level, pro or con. Siberian Reserve Gamble, of course. }:-) With such unpredictable combat results and loose, ZOC-less penetrability, the game has solitaire potential. Enlargement of components for multi-player play ... or just physical enjoyment ... is recommended.
