About the Game
Beset is an abstract strategy game for 2 - 5 players. Players will either place a piece from their limited supply or will try to return a piece from the board. This task is made more difficult by one key detail: placement is always adjacent to an opponent's piece. As a piece starts to be surrounded or beset they will promote, opening up capturing or scoring opportunities. Through piece placement, players will create scoring positions, while limiting their opponent's options. Beware though, as each time you score, it reduces your piece count, which at length can leave you with too few pieces to confront your opponent(s).
For a greater challenge, Beset accommodates additional players, shifting the game from careful planning to a mix of planning and thoughtful response. As more players join, the impact of well placed pieces grows, with adjacent piece promotion and further adjacent piece capture or scoring. Prepare to be Beset!
