Big Time Hoops 2014

Big Time Hoops is a fast-playing, card-based simulation of professional basketball for two players. To recreate the flow of the game and remove "housekeeping" altogether, the game eschews individual cards for basketball players and focuses exclusively on the major action elements of the sport.

In general, you'll hold a hand of three cards, most of which will be offensive in nature. You'll play one of them, choosing to pass the ball or drive to the basket; each card will result in a shot attempt with a varying degree of success. Then you'll roll a die. If the shot fails, the card states which side gets the rebound. (Yes, three-point shots are in the game.)

Your opponent can play a defensive card, and when used wisely he'll steal a pass, block a shot or foul your shooter.

Simulating realistic scoring requires a delicate balance in a sport where each team averages 100 points per game. Rest assured that you'll find it here, as the number of two-pointers, three-pointers and foul shots will be very close to their actual real-life averages each and every game.
