About the Game
These 10 wargame scenarios feature the battles around the city of Arras from 21 to 24 May.
Arras was to become one of the most famous actions for the BEF, and particularly for the Royal Tank Regiment, in the Campaign in France and Flanders in 1940. 4th and 7th RTR with their Matilda tanks lead a sortie around the western side of Arras that was initially successful as it slammed into the flank of Rommel's 7th Panzer Division. The attack soon flagged as the Germans reacted swiftly, and a painful withdrawal ensued. After the tanks withdrew there were further desperate attacks to defend the town and its flanks before a final withdrawal on 24 May.
This pack includes scenarios that break the tank attack into its component parts from the initial advance to the withdrawal. It then carries the story past that with two battles on the flank, and a final scenario that covers 150th Brigade's withdrawal. Three of the scenarios are specifically designed so that they can be played solitaire.
These scenarios have detailed maps and organisations for battles and are designed for wargamers who enjoy their history as much as their gaming. All scenarios include the actual map from 1940, accurate forces and real battles. These are highly detailed and well researched games.
