About the Game

Canewdon is a trick taking card game for four to five players. The card-play uses standard rules of trick-taking.

Canewdon differs from many trick-taking games because the players determine the value of various objectives during the course of the hand. They do this by placing cubes on the bidding sheet after the second, fourth and sixth trick. This gradual reveal of the value of each objective and what each player hopes to achieve presents opportunities to change plans as the hand progresses, boost the value of an insignificant-seeming objective, and avoid making an objective an opponent seems likelier to achieve more valuable.
