About the Game

Case Work is a cooperative educational board game in which players take on the roles of social workers, balancing the everyday challenges of professional practice while supporting clients through a variety of realistic cases.

Throughout the game, players work through Case Cards, some of which can be handled individually, while others require the entire team to collaborate. Resolving cases consumes shared resources such as available working hours and budget, forcing players to prioritize their actions and make difficult decisions. Event Cards introduce unexpected developments that can complicate ongoing cases or create new challenges.

Players take turns making decisions for their individual or team cases, carefully managing time, mental well-being, professionalism, relationships, and other limited resources. Success depends on effective communication, teamwork, and strategic resource management.

The game ends once a total of five Case Cards have been resolved and discarded. The current round is then completed, after which the team evaluates its overall performance using a scoring system that reflects how successfully they managed their workload, resources, and responsibilities.
