About the Game

In City Beat, players take on the roles of competitive mayors striving to make their growing cities famous by investing in culture, sports, and tourism. To increase your city's prestige, you must build museums, theaters, and parks, connect them with tram lines, and support local sports teams. However, the competition is fierce, as rival mayors constantly compete to host major festivals—from chocolate fairs to electronic music concerts—and use unique, once-per-game abilities to surprise their opponents and disrupt their plans. The game is played over 10 rounds, each consisting of three phases: building and investing, blind bidding for festival cards using influence tokens, and collecting income. To win, you must accumulate the most victory points by the end of the game. Points are awarded for completed tram routes, built infrastructure, your teams' standings in the sports leagues, and collected festival cards, rewarding the player who finds the best strategic balance.
