About the Game

Coal & Chaos turns a traditional Christmas gift exchange into a lively game of strategy, surprises, and holiday mischief. Players compete for presents while managing a limited supply of Coal Tokens that give them control over where unwanted or highly coveted gifts travel around the room.

Players take turns in a randomly determined order, opening a wrapped gift and choosing to keep it or spend Coal Tokens to pass it. Gifts can be sent clockwise, reversed, or even passed across the room at increasing costs. Every pass adds a Coal Token to the gift, so the more a present gets rejected, the more valuable and tempting it becomes. Because passed gifts can reach anyone, players remain involved even when it isn't their turn.

There are no points or traditional winners: the goal is simply to navigate the chaos and finish with a gift you're happy to take home.
